A sample project. The setup is real; the figures illustrate the result we're aiming for.
The problem
A mechanic can't stop work every time the phone rings. The call goes to voicemail, the customer doesn't leave a message and rings the next garage instead. It isn't a problem with how they treat people —the work is usually good—; it's a problem of being available.
What the agent does
- Answers on the first ring, out of hours too, by phone and WhatsApp.
- Handles the usual questions: opening hours, whether they do a given service, how to drop the car off.
- Offers a slot and books the appointment in the garage's diary.
- If someone asks a price that depends on seeing the car, it says so and takes their details so the garage can ring back.
The important bit: don't annoy the customer
A badly built agent is worse than none. So the rule is: it never makes up a price and never leaves anyone stuck in a loop. If it can't sort something out, it takes the message and flags it. Worst case, the customer ends up where voicemail would have left them; best case, with an appointment booked.
The result we're aiming for
Win back the calls that used to drop —especially the out-of-hours ones— and take the constant phone interruption off the garage. Success isn't measured by how many conversations the AI had, but by how many appointments landed in the diary that used to be lost.
If you run a garage —or any trade where your hands are busy— and the phone is costing you customers, let's talk and we'll tell you what we'd build.
